The train's in the Southwest, I'm taking the Amtrak Texas Eagle through Arizona and New Mexico to be more specific, and just south of the train, there's a distant flashing of lightning, too far to hear but just close enough to see.
Heat lightning's from storms same as normal lightning is, it's just farther away. It's a matter of perspective. A lot of things are a matter of perspective, actually.
